The Morean and Hermitage Apartment Homes are partnering to bring recognition to artists by way of exhibition space. The first floor lobby of the Hermitage, located two blocks from the Morean, is a beautiful, airy, contemporary space- perfect for showcasing artwork.
Sarah Hull studied art at the Rhode Island School of Design and the New York Studio School. Her award-winning paintings have been exhibited both locally and at national juried shows. She maintains a studio in Tampa and her work is represented by Articles Art Gallery and Custom Framing in St. Petersburg.
Of her work, Sarah says “My intent with this series is to evoke a sense of isolation one might experience in a crowd; the juxtaposition of isolation and loneliness co-existing within a relaxed, leisurely recreational space, voyeuristically looking into, but not being part of the world below.”
See Sarah Hull's work at the Hermitage Apartment Homes lobby, located at 151 7th Street S in St. Petersburg. The exhibition runs through June 24, 2018.

The Leslie Curran Gallery has a strong history of putting on dual exhibitions of artists whose work fits beautifully together. Above and Beyond, featuring Sarah Hull's paintings and Catherine Woods' glass sculptures, follows suit. Hull's paintings present beach scenes from a bird's-eye view, showing the tops of beach umbrellas and people as little dots in the water. Woods, known for her large public art installations, brings her signature cast and laminated glass sculptures, with the geometric patterns of soft color that not only complement Hull's paintings, but also take on the sparking quality of sunlight on water, evoking the beach. Mingle with the artists while you view their work at a free reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. 1431 Central Ave. (727) 898-6061.
St. Petersburg, Florida 33705
Glass artist Catherine Woods will also have her work on exhibit. You may know the artist for her large outdoor public art installations, but here you will see her table-top and wall-mounted sculptures.
Artist reception: Aug. 12, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. (part of St. Pete's Second Saturday ArtWalk).
